3rd Place in State Doubles Competition - Oct 23-24, 2009
Leslee Feldhaus and Abby Fish took 3rd place in the Missouri state
doubles competition at the Cooper Tennis Center in Springfield. In
their climb to 3rd, out of the 16 teams qualifying, they faced teams
that finished 2nd, 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th.
In the district final, they defeated Lees Summit North 6-3, 6-3.
LSN finished 8th at state and had a record of 15-4 prior to their loss to Liberty.
In the round of 16, Liberty defeated Springfield Kickapoo 4-6,6-4,11-9.
Kickapoo finished 7th at state and had a record of 26-4 prior to their defeat by Liberty.
In the quarterfinals, Liberty defeated Columbia Rockbridge 6-2, 6-1. Rockbridge finished 6th at state.
In the semifinals, Liberty lost to St. Joseph's Academy's Thome & Jolly 2-6, 2-6.
In the third place match, Liberty defeated Eureka 6-3, 6-4.
Eureka finished 4th and had a record of 19-1 prior to their defeat by Liberty.
In the district final, they defeated Lees Summit North 6-3, 6-3.
