Director's Notes
Working on a theatrical production is much like running a race. In the case of The
Hobbit, it was an all out sprint! With only five weeks in which to pull
together a full-length production, we began "running" full sped ahead
on the eighth day of school. We are now crossing the finish line and couldn't be
more proud of our "team". Our cast rose to the challenge
magnificently. They learned blocking, memorized lines and followed directions
like true champions. Our student crews were hard-working and enthusiastic. Many
of them attended Saturday work sessions and all of them worked tirelessly to
help bring our show to life. Finally, we had our spectacular parent volunteers.
No matter what the task was, they ran with it. From costumes to set, from props
to publicity, our parent volunteers made this a race to remember. We thank you
all for sharing your time and talents with us. We definitely couldn't have run
this race without you.
