CHEERLEADERS SECOND IN STATE
The Liberty High School Varsity Cheerleaders
competed at the state cheer competition on Saturday, November 17.
They placed 2nd in the state of Missouri! The girls
are also the Kansas City Regional Champions! Both are firsts
for Liberty Cheerleading! Congratulations Ladies!! Members of the
team include: Michelle Anderson, Abby Backhaus, Ellie
Backhaus, Brittany Crabtree, Brenda Doehring, Kaitlyn Evans,
Rae-Shawn Hale, Paige Heiskell, Jessica Jimenez, Amanda Kirkland,
Micha Lorenz, Mary-Margaret Mense, Birttany O’Connor, Danielle
Painter, Ashley Pearl, Madi Reid, Lindsey Rheuport, Kara
Simmons, Sarah Simmons, Lauren Walker, Erica Williams, and
Anna Wright. Coaches are Brenda Moats, Allison Kenealy,
and Daisy King.
The LHS Cheerleaders competed Friday, August 3rd at the Kansas City Regional Cheer Competition in Lee’s Summit. The Varsity Team won the 5A division, qualifying them for the State Competition in Columbia on November 17 at 3:30 pm in Columbia. The JV team placed 2nd in their division. This is a first for Liberty Cheerleading!
Earlier this summer, both teams earned a bid to compete at the National Cheerleading Competition. Both teams won their divisions at camp, taking home Top Team and Champion Chant trophies. They also won the overall TEAM award for leadership, positive attitude, and sportsmanship!
